Merrilyn's Garden Walk
Our next Garden Walk will take place on Saturday July 30th at my home at 25 Manna Court in Mulgrave. I am hoping the magnificent pink scented Luculia flowers will still be in bloom. My garden is packed with a wide range of flowers, shrubs, and trees. The Daphne is bursting into flower and the hellebores are providing colour and texture along with the cyclamen and ferns that are scattered around the garden. Camellias are beginning to flower and the orchids in hanging baskets have spikes that promise wonderful flowers to come. In my garden you will find baskets of winter annuals hanging from trees and plant stands as well as baskets attached to the paling fence. A small stream of flowing water bubbles into a small pond with colourful fish. The gardens surrounding the pond attracts many beautiful birds that you may be lucky enough to meet on your visit. Recently King Parrots, Galahs, Eastern Spinebill, Pardalotes, Lorikeets as well as Butcher birds and blackbirds have been visiting. A small glasshouse is also in the garden where plants are being sheltered and propagated.
Afternoon tea will be served during the Open time of 2 – 4 PM. You can bring something to share for afternoon tea if you wish. I hope to meet lots of our Waverley Garden Club friends at 25 Manna Court, Mulgrave.
